Why bullion sales tax needs an exact checkout check
A ZIP can help identify a destination, but it does not by itself establish the final tax on a specific bullion order.
Tax treatment can depend on the destination, product and transaction details. A broad state label or guessed ZIP rate is not enough to promise a buyer’s final amount. The retailer checkout remains the source for the actual charge on an order.
Read the displayed basis
Bullion Price Scout ranks eligible product prices plus verified shipping before tax. It does not silently treat an unknown tax as zero. A separately labeled retailer checkout tax sample may appear only when it matches the exact five-digit ZIP, product, dealer, payment method, quantity, delivery region and unchanged product and shipping costs.
Understand a sample
A matching sample records a specific retailer checkout observation, not a reusable tax rule or guarantee for every street address in the ZIP. It expires after 24 hours and does not reorder the pre-tax comparison. If no matching sample exists, use the retailer checkout to determine tax.
Compare final amounts
Open the eligible offer and verify the exact item, payment quote, shipping and tax before purchase. If the observed subtotal or link is wrong, use the correction form on the comparison page. This article explains the site’s display method and is not tax advice.
