Card vs. ACH when buying gold: compare the order subtotal

The same dealer offer may have different payment prices. Quantity and shipping can change the result again.

Many bullion listings show a headline price that applies to one payment method or quantity tier. Before comparing dealers, decide whether you will pay by card, ACH or check, or another supported method. A card order and an ACH order can have different prices even for the same item at the same dealer.

Record the quote for each method

Use the dealer’s current product page or checkout to capture the price for your chosen method and the quantity you intend to buy. A quoted discount for a large order should not be applied to a one-item basket. Keep the product, condition, mint or refiner, and delivery destination the same when switching methods.

Add shipping once per order

Compare unit price multiplied by quantity plus shipping. For an illustrative one-item order, a card price of $2,120 with free shipping is lower than an ACH price of $2,100 with $30 shipping on the same basis. At a larger quantity, a shipping threshold may change the result. These numbers are examples rather than live dealer prices.

Separate fees that remain unknown

Tax depends on product and destination and is excluded from this site’s ranked subtotal. If you use Bitcoin, network fees or the final exchange quote can add cost. ACH timing, payment eligibility and any dealer restrictions should be checked directly. An unknown shipping charge is not zero, and a missing payment quote cannot be borrowed from a different method.

Check the current comparison

The gold comparison lets you choose card, ACH/check or Bitcoin and shows a same-offer payment matrix when eligible observations exist. Each method still needs current price, stock and verified shipping. Read how the ranking works, then confirm your final total and payment terms at the dealer checkout.
